Armstrong Europe Racing Selects Crew Chief for 2025 FIA European Drag Racing Championship
OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 4, 2025) — Armstrong Europe Racing, the newest American-owned entrant in the 2025 FIA European Drag Racing Championship, announced Tuesday that it has selected a crew chief to lead its Top Fuel program. While the team is finalizing details before making the official announcement, team leadership is confident in its choice to spearhead the effort.
"We have selected a proven leader to guide our program in its debut season," said team owner Chris Armstrong, speaking from a business trip in Kansas City. "This individual has the experience, knowledge, and winning mindset we need to be competitive right away. We are excited about the future and will announce our full leadership team soon."
Armstrong Europe Racing also named David Gaterell as general manager and co-crew chief. Gaterell, currently a co-crew chief for an NHRA Top Fuel team, will oversee assembly, crew management, and international logistics as the team prepares for its FIA European Drag Racing Championship debut.
The team will announce its driver in the coming weeks, with multiple candidates under consideration for the Top Fuel seat. The team is also finalizing partnerships with key sponsors, including industry-leading brands from both the United States and Europe, as it prepares for its inaugural FIA European Drag Racing Championship campaign.
With its leadership team coming together, Armstrong Europe Racing aims to make an immediate impact in its first season. The team will continue preparations ahead of the 2025 season opener, with further announcements expected soon.
